In and interesting marketing act, a coffee company seized the moment by jumping all over anti-nationalist move by Starbucks and declaring that it will hire 10,000 veteran to respond to Starbucks hiring 10,000 refugee (failed) publicity move.
This is not the first time that Starbucks has involved itself with a very divisive message to stair some controversy. We all remember the “race together” debacle. Or, do you remember the rumor that they were donating 1$ per cup to the Israeli army? Or their “failed” initiative to do not serve people who were using their establishment to study or watch YouTube video on their laptop. They used to call these people the very pejorative “laptop-hobos”.
But, unfortunately, it seams that nothing sticks to these guys. And they just ride the waves of their divisive techniques to more an more publicity and free advertisement. It was about time so that somebody with right morality and real positive message and will to do good (not like the blood sucking vampires in the Starbucks). To ride the Starbucks free publicity stunt.
